The aim of this study was to evaluate the knowledge around the complementary feeding of infants older than six months amongst mothers who adhere to standard and vegetarian diets and to determine complications that call for the help of a dietician. A total of 251 mothers of young children aged 102 months participated in the study. Only 10 of vegetarian mothers declared that they had placed their children on a vegetarian diet regime, whereas 36 mothers adhered to a lacto-ovo-vegetarian diet regime through complementary feeding inside the initially year of life. Mothers adhering to a conventional diet program had been characterized by lower levels of information (4.1 two.three points) than vegetarian mothers (five.three 2.1 points). Mothers following a standard diet plan were far more probably to indicate a higher than advisable variety of each day meals (OR = 1.76; Cl: 1.31.97, p 0.001). Important variations have been noted within the respondents’ adherence towards the BLW process, which was more readily implemented by vegan (p 0.05) and lacto-vegetarian (p 0.05) mothers and was least well-liked amongst mothers following a traditional diet regime (OR = 0.81; CI: 0.66.23, p 0.04). Vegetarian mothers unnecessarily delayed the introduction of gluten and potentially allergizing foods to the children’s diets, often even past the age of 12 months. Introduction The number of households adhering to a vegetarian diet, like families where infants and small kids are raised vegetarian, has improved in hugely developed countries in the final two decades [1]. In Europe, the prevalence of vegetarianism is estimated at two in France, 3.2 in Poland, 9 in Germany, ten in Sweden, and 12 in the United kingdom [2].
